Surrounded by rolling hills and tall pines, and not far from the Historic Marietta Square, City Club Marietta has the flavor of a mountain golf course with its exceptional views.
The original nine-hole layout was designed by members of the Marietta Country Club and built on the former site of the Georgia Military Institute around 1912. The original layout included holes that encircled the clubhouse and ran along Powder Springs Street.
In the 1960s an additional nine was built at the club. The City of Marietta later bought the property and after an extensive renovation by Mike Young Designs, the course opened to the public in the fall of 1991. Today, the City Club Marietta golf course requires excellent shot-making and accurate putting on its bentgrass greens.
